Overview

Training includes:

  • Classroom instruction (morning)
  • Complimentary lunch
  • Field training using a training tank car and locomotive (afternoon)
  • Certificates upon successful completion will be emailed following the event

Event Locations:

  • Session begins at Seaboard Triumph Foods Expo Center 550 Expo Center Drive Sioux City, IA 51101
  • Must provide your own transportation between the two locations. There will be a 20 minute break during the session to drive to the cargo trailer walk-around portion of the training.

  • 9:10 - 9:25 AM - Pre-Incident Planning:  Planning Requirements & Assistance, EPA Contingency Plans, and Recommended Content for Local Spill Response Plans
  • 9:25 - 9:45 AM - Problem Identification:  Tank Car Identification and Markings, Identify the Hazmat Involved, and Identify Critical Information to Gather and Report
  • 9:45 - 9:55 AM - Break
  • 9:55 - 10:20 AM - Hazard Assessment & Risk Evaluation:  Identify Hazards Factors and Key Risk Factors Affecting the Response
  • 10:20 - 10:35 AM - Logistics & Resource Management: Identification and Effective Management of Resources

Be at the site by 8:00AM for registration. Depending on registration and training needs, the training schedule may be adjusted prior to event.

Required Safety Gear: long pants and closed toe shoes
