Overview
CPKC Hazmat Team will be providing FREE firefighter/first responder training. Safety topics include:
- Meet the CPKC Rail Response team
- Safety Around the Railroad
- Understanding Rail Shipping Documents
- Rail & Tank Car Identification
- Locomotive Emergencies
- Railroad Emergency Procedures
- AskRail Mobile App
Attendee Level
Attendees should be emergency responders: fire departments, law enforcement, emergency medical services, hazmat response teams, emergency management personnel and homeland security.
No PPE is required for this event.
Event Focus
Event focus is geared towards the first due firefighters that may respond to a rail incident, how to recognize dangers, how to contact the railroad and what resources the railroad can provide during incidents. Upon completion, all attending will have a better understanding of rail partnerships and be signed up for the ASKRAIL application.
Description
Classroom Sessions
Students will learn about railroad operations, hazards, and safety rules. Rail hazmat safety and emergency response procedures are reviewed.
