Emergency preparedness training for local and regional emergency response organizations and personnel. Community leaders are welcome to attend the sessions to learn how they can elevate their assistance and communications within their communities.

Additional Information

The North East Tour will be traveling through three cities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey during the months of April and May 2012. This tour will bring training sessions to locations in Wood bury, NJ; Bristol, PA and Piscataway, NJ. The tour is sponsored by The Dow Chemical Company teaming with Norfolk Southern and Conrail Railroads, the Firefighters Education and Training Foundation, CHEMTREC and many other local supporting agencies.

Training Curriculum
The module-based training curriculum is designed to meet the needs of various stakeholder groups. To better meet these needs, two training tracks have been developed, both are offered each day of training.

Track 1 - General Awareness for Non-responders (1.5 hours)
Track 2 - Hazmat Tech Training (All-day session)
               Tank Car Anatomy
                Toxic Inhalation Hazard Materials and Flammable Gases
                Capping Kits (C-Kit and Midland Kit)
                Leaks Approach, Investigation and Mitigation
               Tank Truck Course Ethanol Emergencies
                Ethanol Emergencies

Lunch will be provided.

Registration is requested, however walk-ons are welcome. Class size is limited to 60 participants per session.
